TOP 5 viewpoints on the Vltava river path

These 5 best viewpoints offer an extraordinary view of the surroundings. See for yourself:

České Budějovice: Confluence of Vltava and Malše

Not every prospect must be high. This is also the case at the confluence of the Vltava and the Malší stream, which flow into each other directly in Budějovice.

Just a few steps from the city center you will find vast greenery surrounding the confluence of rivers. Not surprisingly, the local shores are a popular place to relax, not only on summer evenings.

Whether you observe the confluence from the tip of Střelecký Island (which is not really an island) formed by the park “Háječek”, or from Sokolský Island, the view is mainly soothing.

A view point in the chateau Hluboká nad Vltavou

Hluboká nad Vltavou Castle is already known. In addition to the beauty of the castle itself, you can also admire the views from here.

Just look away from the castle, stroll in the castle below and find a wall in its southeast corner, which offers a view of the surroundings. In addition to the green stretches in all directions, you will also see the swiftly flowing Vltava River with a small harbor just below you.

If you can get up at sunrise, ideally with the expensive half, you can enjoy a romantic morning without the crowds of tourists.

Lookout Baba

A magical place not only thanks to the view but also to history. In the past, there was a fortified settlement Baba probably from the Early and Late Bronze Age. Although nothing remains of him, do not be afraid to let go of your imagination and imagine how people lived here in a fortified settlement.

The view from here will take the wind from your sails. A huge rock rises above the left bank of the Vltava River surrounded by dense forests from both sides. It is a protected area and nature could literally enjoy themselves. If the place is just covered with fog, the overall mysterious impression will only intensify.

Especially, if possible, come here to see the sunrise. When the lazy sun shines on the surface of the Vltava River, it looks at the heart of many tough people looking at the magical surrounding landscape.

Semenec Lookout Tower (right bank of the river)

The small lookout tower Semenec, which is led by a pleasant walking circuit through the forest of the same name, is a popular destination for families with children, for whom there is a special guide available: the forest elf Semenáček.

Today it is nice, but in the past you would not be too excited to visit Semence. There was a city execution.

In addition to the Vltava River, you can admire the red roofs of the town of Týn nad Vltavou. In summer and early autumn, however, the views are partly obscured by lush vegetation. The location therefore offers an ideal trip in spring or winter months.

Všemyslice: Confluence of Vltava and Lužnice

Walking from Semence you will reach the confluence of the Vltava and Lužnice. When the rivers merge, there is something magical about it, and the confluence of the Vltava and Lužnice is no exception.

Všemyslice rock outlook is hidden in the forests surrounding Neznašov. There is also a nature trail called Za neznašovským kohoutem, which we can highly recommend, around the lookout.

The Vltava Trail is full of natural beauty. Find at least one of the prospects and see for yourself.
